Introduction

The extraverted feeling type (EF) uses its feelings to evaluate how well it fits into the generally accepted social value system. As a result, their own feelings and values predominantly harmonize with external conditions, while the subjective is suppressed. Such a person asks themselves which behavior, which interests and, above all, which activities they must pursue in order to be part of the external emotional events. The social influence of fashion, humane institutions, cultural institutions and harmonious coexistence in a society owe their existence to the existence of the extraverted feeling type. The world of feelings, especially the values perceived as objective that arise from them, have the highest priority for this type, which is why they use them to make judgments about all matters, to live and to act according to the situation. Therefore, the meaning of his existence lies in feeling itself; in his opinion, nothing disturbs feeling as much as thinking. This does not mean that this type does not think; on the contrary, this type might even think very cleverly - however, the process of thinking never exists for its own purpose. Instead, thinking is completely dependent on the process of feeling - what cannot be felt as "true" or "right" therefore never corresponds to objective truth for them and is subsequently suppressed.

The appearance of the extraverted feeling type is in many cases, but not always, characterized by exceptional enthusiasm and in many cases a high external emotional affect that is able to change and adapt spontaneously depending on the situation. If cooler in nature, then this is more evident in his actions. The nature of this type is therefore very fickle, but also predictable. Predictable, because the feelings, reactions and actions of this type almost always adapt to the objective circumstances of their environment and also follow a rational, traceable pattern; they therefore show their environment exactly the reactions that are expected of them. On the other hand, their emotions do not penetrate very deeply into the subjective consciousness of the psyche, which is why the emotions or actions shown externally rarely correspond to those felt internally. The extraverted feeling type feels the need to adapt to the environment because it does not want to be socially excluded. However, this does not mean that the average extraverted feeling type has no personal qualities of their own within themselves. On the contrary, they all appear very different in their personality and are individual in their own way.

The Shadow Side

Since the extraverted feeling type lives and makes decisions based almost exclusively on objective, emotional and social criteria, it can be described as a primitive manifestation of the introverted thinking type (IT): The extraverted feeling type avoids thinking thoughts that he perceives as dangerous - thoughts and opinions that could split him off from the rest of his social environment and thus make him an outsider are not a real option for him. He will therefore find it difficult to orientate himself purely on the basis of intellectual ways of thinking and factors. For him, thinking has only a compensatory function for the ambitions of his own emotional ideas; however, if he tries to manifest introverted thinking (Ti) in consciousness, this usually manifests itself as a type of thinking characterized by immaturity and negativity, which can turn into an exaggerated argumentative tendency, whose reasoning is noticeably based on a rather very limited, superficial field of vision mixed with an emotional, judgmental and belittling aggressiveness. This negative way of thinking deliberately tries to assert one's point of view in terms of one's emotions and is prone to prejudices and assertions that insist on only a single, limited possibility, since it has a pronounced cluelessness about the value of the world of ideas, theories and concepts; thinking therefore functions as a means of justifying one's own emotional judgments and values based on distorted, superficial conclusions.

Nevertheless, the extraverted feeling type has some specific habits and interests that represent an attempt, however briefly, to live out the most contradictory part of their emotional ego; for example, this type fixates on certain intellectually-oriented areas in order to better connect with certain people or groups on an emotional level.
